Cosmoprof 2024

The 55th edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, the leading trade event for the cosmetics and professional beauty industry, recorded almost 250 thousand visitors in four days, confirming itself as a highly successful international showcase.

3012 exhibitors: 58% from the European Union and 42% from extra EU. The percentage of new exhibitors compared to 2023 is also particularly significant, 35% of the total.

The presence of the institutions this year was crucial, with numerous government representatives such as the ICE Agency, the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, which for this edition involved over 70 offices to invite delegations from the main markets.
In fact, among the excellences coming from non-EU countries, the number of players who decide to preside over the European market starting from marketplaces is growing, which allow entry costs infinitely lower than offline distribution, maintaining complete control over their pricing and positioning strategy.

An overview of the sector

The cosmetics industry in our country is characterized by high standards of quality, safety, innovation and creativity; these peculiarities are recognized and appreciated on international markets.

The Beauty & Cosmetics sector has always stood out for its above-average growth and penetration rates, as well as for a very high level of innovation that has allowed it to establish itself as a pioneer in the e-commerce world.

67% of the make-up consumed in Europe is produced by Italian companies, globally it reaches 55%.

According to the “Beauty Report 2023-2027” by McKinsey, the global cosmetics industry is worth 427 billion dollars: a turnover expected to increase by 6% per year, reaching 580 billion in 2027.
